How to install, sign in, and use the Twingate Client for secure access to Cloud 29 resources.
- Download the Twingate Client for your platform from twingate.com/download.
- Install the client and, when prompted for Network, enter
cloud29 (replace if we have provided a different value).
- Sign in with your email address and complete MFA.
- Connect and open your app (e.g., Sage Evolution or SSMS) using the internal host provided by IT.

- Active Cloud 29 account with Twingate access enabled.
- Company email address and MFA (multi‑factor authentication) device.
- Administrator privileges on your workstation for the initial install (Windows/macOS).
Note: Twingate follows a Zero Trust model—access is granted only to the resources you’re allowed to use. If you need something new, request access via IT.

Tip: Always download from the official Twingate website to guarantee authenticity and security.
- Download the latest Twingate Client for Windows from the company portal or official site.
- Run the installer (
Twingate.exe) and follow the prompts.
- When asked for your Network, enter
cloud29 (or the value provided by IT).
- Complete the installation and launch the client from the Start Menu.

- Open the disk image and drag Twingate into Applications.
- Launch the app; when prompted for a Network, enter
cloud29.
- Approve any system extension or VPN configuration prompts.

When prompted for Network, use cloud29.
Mobile (iOS / Android)
- Install Twingate from the App Store or Google Play.
- Open the app and enter
cloud29 as your Network.
- Sign in with your company email and complete MFA.
- Open the Twingate Client. If not configured, enter the Network:
cloud29.
- Click Sign in → authenticate with your Cloud 29 account.
- Complete MFA if prompted.
- Return to the client—your status should show Connected.
Tip: Use Ctrl+Shift+K (Windows/Linux) or ⌘+Shift+K (macOS) to quickly open the client.
- Once connected, only resources you’re authorized for are reachable. Traffic to other sites continues directly to the internet (no slow backhaul).
- To disconnect, open the client and toggle Disconnect. Reconnect when needed.
- Switch networks (if applicable) via Settings → Network.
- To check what you can access, open the client and view the Resources list.
- Connect Twingate.
- Open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
- Server name: the private host provided by IT (e.g.,
sql-internal.cloud29.local).
- Auth: Windows/AD or SQL Authentication per your account.
- Connect Twingate.
- Open Sage Evolution and choose your company database.
- If asked for a SQL server, use the internal address supplied by IT.
- Connect Twingate.
- Use your RDP/SSH client with the private hostname or IP of the resource you’re permitted to access.
- Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) — connect to private SQL hosts via Twingate.
- Sage Evolution — database access over Twingate to hosted SQL Express/Standard.
- RDP / SSH, web apps on private DNS, file shares (permitted resources only).
Stuck on Connecting
- Toggle Disconnect → Connect in the client.
- Check your internet connection and system date/time.
- Sign out and sign back in to refresh your session.
Can’t reach a resource
- Verify the hostname is correct (e.g.,
app.internal.cloud29).
- Ensure you’ve been granted access to that resource group.
- If using SSMS/Sage Evolution, confirm the SQL instance name and port.
DNS issues
- Disconnect and reconnect to refresh DNS settings.
- Flush local DNS cache (Windows:
ipconfig /flushdns; macOS: sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder).
Collect logs for Support
- Open the client → Help → Collect Logs.
- Attach logs when opening a support ticket.
Q: Do I need the client connected for normal web browsing?
A: No. Only private Cloud 29 resources go through Twingate; public sites use your regular internet connection.
Q: Does Twingate replace our VPN?
A: Yes—Twingate provides Zero Trust access to only the services you’re allowed to use, improving security and performance.
Q: Can I install it on multiple devices?
A: Yes, as permitted by company policy. Each device must comply with security standards (OS updates, endpoint protection, disk encryption).
